Q1. How to get good range / USB 3.0 Interference?
We see complaint of
short range or cut off often because the adapter
is connected to the back of a desktop computer, where there is a lot of random radio noise generated by the processor and system parts.
Moving the adapter to the front of the computer often helps, or using a USB 2.0 extension cable to move the adapter away from the computer. An Intel white paper also confirmed that poorly shielded USB 3.0 ports will cause radio interference. If your device is having range issues when plugged into a USB 3.0 port, a USB extension cable can help with this.
The range depends on
BOTH the receiving and the transmitting devices
. Please test your receiving Bluetooth device with a mobile phone to confirm the range is acceptable.
Operation range can be affected by

Q2. Do I need to pay a license fee for the driver?
No, you do not. The license fee is already included in your purchase. However problems in the software installation may prompt an error message asking for a license fee.
Why does this happen?
1. Almost 99 of laptops on the market have built-in Bluetooth for data exchange. The drivers for this can lead to a resource conflict with BlueSoleil – the software which is included with the DG40S. Please disable the default driver.
2. Next please remove / uninstall the previously installed version of BlueSoleil and download the latest version to avoid conflict. Please ask Avantree for help.
Q3: Do you have any installation tips to get this dongle works well?
Plug and play on Native Win 10 computer shipped with win 10 installed. If no special use, we highly recommend win 10 user DO NOT install driver from CD. Windows will automatically install driver.
DISABLE the built-in Bluetooth before use if your computer has the built-in Bluetooth.
For properly use DG40S, please remove all third-party Bluetooth driver or program, especially CSR harmony software.
Q4. Why this dongle doesn’t pair with my Bluetooth headphones / speakers?
Make sure your audio devices are Bluetooth, DG40S doesn’t support 2.4G wireless devices.
Make sure your Bluetooth headphone / speaker is in pairing mode. Note that powering them on doesn't mean they're in pairing mode. Often the pairing mode status is indicated by a rapidly flashing LED on the device, please refer to your user manual for instructions.
